Biography

Daniel Johnson-Brewer is a Saxophonist in the Central Ohio area. Currently he is a student at Capital University studying Saxophone Performance and Jazz Studies. In his career, he has performed with numerous groups such as Vaughn Wiester’s Famous Jazz Orchestra, The Rick Brunetto Big Band, New Basics Brass Band, the Columbus Youth Jazz Orchestra, the Ohio Intercollegiate Jazz Ensemble, and many others. He has also been the recipient of numerous awards including the Rahsaan Roland Kirk Scholarship For The Arts, John Philip Sousa Band Award, Distinguished Scholar Award, Nicholas John Perrini Award, The Mark Flugge Outstanding Jazz Award; and was a finalist for the Hank Marr Jazz Award presented by the Jazz Arts Group of Columbus. Daniel is a proud member of the North American Saxophone Alliance, Jazz Education Network, and Tau Beta Sigma
